Why Butterfly
“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” Maya Angelou
Do you keep putting off trying or returning to yoga?
As a yoga teacher in my 50's who came to yoga in her 40's - I remember what it’s like to feel that yoga is for "other people". I’m so glad that one day I took a deep breath, and walked into my first yoga class, because I fell in love with the practice.
Are you:
- Worried that you are too inflexible (you’re not)
- Sure it’s been too long since your last class (it hasn’t)
- Intimidated by all the super bendy pretzels you see on socials (me too!)
- Concerned you are too old to start (you aren’t)
I still don't have the most flexible body. However, I am more flexible. Calmer. Stronger. More grateful for and impressed by what my body is capable of. More able to quiet my mind. I will always be learning and I invite you to learn with me.
One of the most important things I’ve learnt, is to stop comparing myself to others and focus on my own practice, with kindness. I’d love to share that feeling with you.
Come along and see for yourself. Classes are kept deliberately small. Mats and props are provided. Just bring yourself, your water bottle and comfortable clothing.
Please note that yoga is practiced in bare feet (so you don't even need sneakers!). It's often a good idea to wear a layer you can remove when you warm up, and then put back on when in relaxation at the end of the session, so you don't get cold.
Every level welcome — postures are offered with options, never demands.
Small classes — for a sense of community.
Simple pricing — pay per class, or save with a multi-class pass.
